UV PRINT – ARTWORK SETUP GUIDE (CUSTOM PRODUCTS)
To ensure your custom UV printed product is produced accurately and at the highest quality, please follow the artwork requirements below.
1) ARTWORK FORMAT + FILE SUPPLY
Accepted file type: High resolution Adobe PDF (Press Quality).
Please supply artwork as a high resolution Adobe PDF without any bleeds, registration or crop marks. Ensure all fonts, links and images are embedded.
Files can be uploaded via the specific product page up to 80mb. Alternatively, enter the URL of your artwork file/s (Dropbox, Google Drive etc).
2) FILE SIZE + PRINT SCALE CHECK
Before exporting, please confirm your artwork is set up at 100% final print size and matches the selected product size/template. Ensure your design is positioned correctly within the printable area.
If artwork is supplied at the wrong size or format, this may delay production.
3) COLOUR SETTINGS
For best results, we recommend supplying artwork in CMYK format. Please note colours may appear different on screen compared to the final printed product.
4) SPOT COLOUR (IF REQUIRED)
It is important that the Spot COLOUR is identical in all aspects to your original artwork underneath.
Avoid applying Spot COLOUR to thin lines, small text or very detailed artwork as it can shift slightly when applied.
How to Setup:
-
Open your artwork in InDesign or Illustrator.
-
Select the elements you wish to apply Spot COLOUR to and duplicate them on to a new layer on top of your artwork.
-
Create a new swatch called Spot COLOUR. Select colour type ‘Spot’. Convert all Spot COLOUR elements to this colour. Ensure fill and opacity are set to 100% and the elements are set to Overprint.
-
Go into the Separation Preview palette (Window / Output / Separation Preview). Change to View: Separations and view only the Spot Colour to ensure your spot colour has been applied.
-
Export as a Press Quality PDF.
5) CUSTOMER ARTWORK RESPONSIBILITY (SPELLING + FILE APPROVAL)
All custom UV prints are produced exactly as the artwork file is supplied and approved by the customer.
We do not check spelling, grammar, or design details unless requested. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the file is correct, final, and print-ready before submitting.
If an order is printed with incorrect spelling, incorrect artwork, the wrong file uploaded, or incorrect sizing supplied by the customer, we can offer a reprint. All reprint costs (including production and shipping) will be borne by the customer.
